Love love love this pub. The tapas is nicer than lots of tapas I’ve had in Spain itself, all thanks to the talented head chef Borja. The standard of food has gone right up since he returned, he seems to take real pride in producing top-quality dishes. Please never leave! The tortilla is always on the menu and is particularly excellent. The staff are really attentive and the pub itself is beautiful with a great atmosphere. I come to the Duke nearly every week and will continue to do so!

Stopped here for drinks on a warm May evening. Lovely beer garden with table service. Friendly staff. Looks like a good place for eating too; was very popular. Just off a big park in Chiswick.

🚇 Chiswick Park 🍺 £6.65 Asahi ❤️ Victorian splendour in W4 . The Duke of Sussex is located in a tranquil spot just opposite the oasis of Acton Green Common. The nearest tube is Chiswick Park which is a relaxing five minute walk away. . This pub first laid its foundations in 1842 and was rebuilt in 1898 by The Cannon Brewery of Clerkenwell. This Grade II listed pub used to have a reputation as a moody boozer back in the day, but those days have long gone. . Like many Victorian pubs of the time, this used to be a multi bar pub (four) which included a billiards room at the rear. Today, the layout is open plan with an exquisite dining room where the billiard room once was. The entrance is surrounded in etched glass and the large arched windows bathe the main bar with light. At the centre of this pub is the curved island bar which was a popular design feature of Victorian pub planning. The stand out feature here is the atrium in the dining room which wouldn’t look out of place in a stately home. A big bonus is the sprawling beer garden to enjoy in the hazier months. . There is an impressive lineup across the pumps with three cask ales if thats you forte. We decided on a pint of Asahi, our pints were very agreeable and cost less than the usual price for this premium lager. The food menu is a modern mix of Spanish influenced fayre, the crowd favourite is definitely the Sunday roasts which are highly rated. . The vibe here is relaxed and chilled, it’s easy to settle in and while away in good company. We arrived just before 1pm on a Saturday afternoon and there was a nice crowd in attendance. A big shout to Alex the Guv’nor who was the host with the most and very welcoming along with all the staff on duty that day. . @thedukew4 serves up a fantastic West London pub experience in a peaceful part of town. You’ll be well looked after in stunning surroundings with a beer and food line up that won’t disappoint. Chiswick is spoilt for choice for decent boozers, The Duke of Sussex is up there with the best of them and well worth your patronage. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 07.04.23
