Definitely one of my favourite pubs. I visited this pub a dozen of times at least now so I feel pretty confortable to recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good gastropub. The menù is great, something more special than an usual pub, I love oysters and this is the only place so far I find them always fresh, well sized and with a lovely taste. There are about 10 different beers on tap, plenty of wines and spirits. Very pretty is the garden too, they converted some horse chariots in tables :). What makes this pub even more appreciated by me is the staff, staff usually makes the diffence and this is the case. I would like to say thanks to Carl in particular, his professionality, love, passion and dedication to his job are amazing and Dominiqua too for the same reasons and for having welcomed me very kindly.

Firstly, the customer service was impeccable. Nothing too much trouble, very welcoming, attentive and polite. It’s something you don’t see a lot of in hospitality these days, so it was appreciated & didn’t go unnoticed. Had a really lovely lunch here a couple of Saturdays ago and we went to town on the menu. We had the sourdough & chicken butter / beef shin & truffle pasties to start. Please do not leave this place without trying the pasties, the pastry was unbelievable and I’m genuinely sad they don’t do a bigger version a main! We ordered all 3 hoagies, the prawn po boy was superior - both me and husband agreed on that, with the philly cheese steak second….I personally wouldn’t bother with the mac and cheese one - politely to the chef, it either needs a different cheese or a good whack of seasoning or both. The chips were also divine, lovely crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. As much as we both wanted a slice of granny’s apple pie, we couldn’t fit it in, but never mind a perfect excuse to come back!
