Very disappointed and did not live up to the expectations. We dined in the restaurant for my partners birthday on Friday night. We ordered Tandoori Salmon and Pork Cheek to start, the salmon was delicious however the onion bajee was soggy and flavourless, the pork cheek was extremely flat with no depth of flavour. I was expecting this to be extremely sticky and rich which it was quite the opposite. For main we had Ribeye steak on the bone and lobster curry, unfortunately both were very underwhelming. The ribeye was about 1cm thick which meant it was not juicy at all even though it looked medium rare. I would expect a far higher quality of steak! The lobster curry was literally lobster curry and rice, a few bits of okra here and there. Lobster was cooked nicely but there was a few large bits of shell. When bought the dessert menus we noticed the allergens didn’t match up on the allergen matrix at the bottom. When we asked the waiter about the honeycomb parfait he said it didn’t have any milk in it but it had butter. (There was a dairy allergen listed) He then told us butter isn’t made from milk and neither is cream, that’s why there allergens were different. Again we told him he was wrong and cream, milk and butter are all the same allergen. There were other dishes labelled incorrectly not listing the correct allergens from the matrix on the menu. (Very worrying!) We enjoy going out for wonderful dinners at new places, however paying £300+ for poorly executed dishes, serious lack of staff training on customer service and incorrect allergen processes is not acceptable for an establishment of this calibre.

If you are looking for somewhere magical to take loved ones and friends for a treat to celebrate any occasion, this is THE restaurant experience to book without any hesitation. Took my mum for our first visit to enjoy their Festive Lunch Menu the weekend before Christmas and we both remarked during and afterwards how flawless the food, service, interior design and ambiance is at this stunning hotel and restaurant. We had drinks in their lounge before being taken to a table looking out to the gardens. A rainy day didn't spoil the view! Service is polite, friendly and unobtrusive and the food is sensational and exquisitely presented. I look forward to coming back for another visit perhaps for the afternoon tea which was being served in the adjacent dining room.

Went for a wonderful afternoon tea here as a gift from friends, the service was impeccable as was the afternoon tea, unlimited sandwiches, pastries were served, warm scones were served and a slice of cake to finish, what we couldn't manage we took home in a beautifully presented box. Would definitely recommend as a pleasurable afternoon out.
