The man attending the reception when we arrived did a terrible job, and overall te customer service was just bad. The rooms while they were nice they were quite dirty, and you could hear plenty of sound coming from the surroundings and other rooms. Rooms : 3/5 | Service : 1/5 | Location : 5/5 … More

The views over the Mailbox and beyond really made our stay at the hotel memorable. The Marco Pierre White restaurant was decent, but vegetarian options were few and far between

Wouldn’t come here again. We booked late checkout and the cleaners were knocking the door at 12:20 telling us we needed to be out. We explained we had late checkout and they were asking what time (cheeky- they should already be informed of this too. And we had the do not disturb sign on), we replied 1. And they responded telling us they could give us 10 minutes??? No, we requested check out at 1. Needless to say, we didn’t leave until 1. I thought that was very rude to disturb the guests and make us feel rushed and forced to leave. There facilities were also poor in the room. For example, no kettle and no water etc and I thought this was really weird for a highly rated establishment. Also the fire alarm on a Wednesday. There is a short warning about it on an information sheet provided in the room saying ‘we appreciate your patience for the alarm on a Wednesday morning’ or something along those lines. We should have been warned before the booking, or at least in person as it is a 30 minute alarm early in the morning which really disrupted our sleep and stay. We would never have booked an extra night if we were informed about this properly. Lastly, when we booked the extra night it wasn’t added to our key card so when we went back to our hotel room after a busy day, it didn’t work. Just shows a lack of organisation and communication with the guests. On a positive note, the reception staff in general were nice. The hotel room was quite clean. Good location. But overall a bad experience and I would not book here again.

Great experience with Rochelle (I believe this was her name - she was a young attractive woman from a black Asian and minority ethnic background) who delivered a first class customer experience when the heater and some other systems weren't working in my room and it was missing some towels and basics. She promptly apologised and quickly found me a comfortable room, which had a better view and was very attentive offering to help me move my belongings over. She also had a positive attitude throughout and put the customer first which is rare in hotel chains these days (I've had some bad experiences at other high end hotels). Thank you Rochelle! :)
