Rooms: Our room was too hot, oddly. Radiators were turned down. Eventually managed to get a window open. Safety: No issues. Walkability: Very easy access to Lyndhurst and New Forest trails. Food & drinks: Food is very good in the restaurant but overpriced. Wine 300%+ markup. Breakfast is a buffet, decent.

Great location for exploring the New Forest and being accessible to the amenities of the town. A nice hotel with very helpful staff. Breakfast was ok but not great. Weirdly steamed black pudding. We didn't fancy the dinner menu so didn't try this. 😳 Our room was ok but very dark and felt a little claustrophobic because of this. I don't think they have air conditioning so I imagine it would be quite oppressive in the heat of summer. My description sounds worse than it was. It was nice enough for a pleasant weekend in the New Forest.

Dinner Review: Fine dining experience. We went there for dinner and every single dish was delicious, from starters to desserts. The waiters were polite and friendly, and they were kind enough to let us bring our dog with us, so we sat in the library. The atmosphere and decor were brilliant. I highly recommend it & it was definitely value for money.
