Polite staff and a tidy old-fashioned pub with a wide range of beers and ales available! Great-sized courtyard garden to the front of the pub fenced in to keep four-legged animals in! Love a neck oil pint so always happy to see them available on draft

This traditional country pub has just been taken over and the new tenants are finding their feet but the beer was well kept and flavoursome and, even though we arrived at 2pm on a Monday, the landlord happily took a food order and served us outside in the sunshine. I had a burger which was very tasty and my wife had a chicken and mayo sandwich packed with fresh chicken. Overall very happy with our lot and we will be back! Walkability: We did a 5 mile walk prior to our arrival. There is a very pleasant circular walk from the pub with wonderful views of the river Itchen

Popped in for a beer and received the most friendly welcome from the landlord ( sorry didn’t catch the name). Lovely log fire and good buzz from other customers. Nice pint ( or two) of Bombadier. Will definitely call in next time we are in the area

Still a traditional pub with a welcome as warm as it's log fire. Let's support these places and keep them open.
