Room itself is decent. However the fire alarm occurs nearly every week and sometimes in the middle of the night, it went off at 5am once. Reception takes time to allow you to collect deliveries, sometimes you have to wait until the next day. Wired internet is gigabit which is incredible. But Wi-Fi is sometimes glitchy and I sometimes have to toggle off and on the Wi-Fi setting to get it to work again. Also, the security of the Wi-Fi network is really poor, allowing you to control other people’s devices e.g. Chromecast.

This is a very nice looking accomodation, but don't be fooled. Since they built it with the cheapest possible materials, everything falls apart. They are already replacing all the insulation despote the building being only a few years new, which has caused me to be woken up by builders outside my 5th floor window drilling and hammering almost every day. Been living here 2 years now and I've had 3 chairs break, several hot water/shower issues, been locked out my room on several occasions because the door randomly won't work, and last year my window wouldn't open at all, leaving me with an incredibly humid and stuffy room. If you think that contacting them to report issues will yield any results, then you thought wrong. In November 2021 I told them about my window issue (first of many emails i sent them). Come June 2022 and it was still broken and I had to buy a dehumidifier with my own money to try and make my room habitable. Most of my emails were either ignored or replied to by what was seemingly a rude 12 year old they hired to manage their complaints. This may be a student accomodation, but it is a business first and they care more about profiting off you than they do about your health and safety. I strongly advise applying to 3rd party student accomodation near the university.

Drunk students screaming all the time from every direction. call the security team or submit a report can achieve nothing. Crazy women stand outside my door screaming consistently all over the year, drunk students having the party in the corridoor every night. Super thin wall so you can hear your neighbor whispering. People shout every night outside the window. it feels like living on a battlefield. The security team did nothing. I had serious depression after I live here. Worst accommodation ever. the worst noisy buliding I have ever seen. after a few months move out, I still can feel anxious and nervous about that memory.

Its okay - the most expensive option at Essex. Bit like the Big Brother House and there's always rich kids drama.

Great architecture, close to the campus especially the EBS building and one of the luxuriest building at the university. HOWEVER, walls are soooooo thin that I hear what my flatmates do even including upstairs and downstairs. Would not prefer hearing to my flatmates and her boyfriend’s convo and their private stuff. Also doors make noise that if you do not hold it while closing it wakes up everyone in the flat with its big noise. Would not recommend it at all.
