Appalling - I've been with this surgery for more than 20 years and lack of basis service is shocking both admin & Gp's.The last receptionist I spoke to told me he wasn't a computer engineer when I reported a glitch of their system which had not been fixed for 9 moths. He also advised the assistant head of reception does not take calls. The staff at my new surgery could not be more helpful and efficient.

I work for the NHS and came on here to say even with the pressures that we’re all experiencing this practice has a LOT of lessons to action and learn. I would personally say my care has lacked any empathy or compassion, and was largely a battle with clinicians from this GP to rush our consultations. I asked for a sick note and was issued 2 different diagnoses/reasons for fitness to work, 1 for 7 days and 1 for 6 weeks. This to me is the perfect example of the absolutely awful communication from and within this practice - that's just the cherry on top of the organisational mess that is this GP. I've had an Urgent same day appointment cancelled because they booked a HCA for my asthma review following an acute flare up instead of a nurse... I've had clincians call me despite explicitly asking for f2f contact, and go ahead and make absolutely unverified (by f2f care) changes to my medication, which is DANGEROUS. including prescribing me opioids for anxiety despite being asthmatic and EXPLICITLY ASKING THE CLINICIAN IF IT WOULD INTERACT WITH MY ASTHMA AND THEY ASSURED ME IT WOULD NOT, and without seeing me f2f. As someone who was unwell I was desperate and ended up taking the medication which ended up sending me to a&e. Only to have ANOTHER "telephone consultation" with a clinician from the same practice, but a completely different person, and told by that clinician that they were confused why they would prescribe me opioids given my asthma and ongoing breathing difficulties. The most recent debacle was being left a voicemail from the doctor no less, stating my blood test came back abnormal and that I might need to consult a specialist, provided absolutely no detail, reassurance, or reasoning for this, and advised me to rebook the appt in a time where appts are months away! I have anxiety and they know this- anyone who’d just received news that their blood test came back abnormal, LET ALONE someone with a diagnosed issue with anxiety would be absolutely shocked by this. I then was on hold with reception for 55 mins, managed to get through and ask them to ask the doctor to cal again, only for the doctor to text me claiming my number wasn’t going though…. Honestly I really feel for you given I work in the NHS but when you’re blatantly being both inefficient and unprofessional, you’re gonna get called out regardless of the difficult times we’re in. Absolutely unacceptable. Something needs to change. And Dr Tharayil please learn that if someone’s phone “doesn’t connect” you don’t abandon your duty of care to follow up - you call again.

My visit is pleasant today. A wonderful young lady named Suela did my blood test. She is caring, friendly and professional. I would recommend after today's visit.

I had to wait on call for 45 minutes and got no answer so I had to go in person to the GP even tho I wasn’t feeling well because I got no reply back neither on patches or on the phone. Had to wait outside for another 30 minutes just to get in and speak to a receptionist. When we finally made it in no one was able to help us, there was this one lady walking around doing nothing, the front receptionist was on the phone and even when he got off the phone he wasn’t able to help us, didn’t bother even getting my name, I believe his name is imran, he just passed us onto Magnus which was amazing bless him, he had to run around the GP practice to find a doctor since I didn’t receive anything back on patches, he apologised for the long wait even though it wasn’t his fault but more his colleagues, he spoke so kindly and made sure to get things done as soon as he could, honestly give this man a promotion or get him better colleagues because he can’t deal with the phone calls and reception duties alone. Honestly I only put the stars because of him, he deserves this good review and I hope the GP practice can do something about the disruption caused by the other colleagues’ lack of work and understanding of the efficacy needed in a GP practice.

I must say I've been quite disappointed with the service at this practice. It is quite difficult to get through to reception. They also recommend you use a service called Patchs to put in your non-urgent medical requests. The response time for this is meant to be 72 hours but both times I've used the service the response time has been longer. I am also not able to view the clinician response and had to call the practice to update me about the message. I gave them a 3 because when I did go to the surgery for bloods they were very efficient and I received my results quickly.
