We were en route home but hungry for dinner; got a table straight away (after some debate between the young staff at reception). Serving staff were nice. Steak & ale pie dinner was terrible (most of the steak was gelatinous chuck which I couldn't eat as it was crusty/burnt/dried out & heavy). Pie crust itself was nice to eat, but as I gave my husband my veg, it was the most expensive pie pastry lid dinner I've ever had! £48 for 2 drinks & 2 steak pie dinners with 1 additional chips is too pricey. Nice decor, nice staff - nothing exceptional & unlikely to return. P.s. PLEASE get the car park fixed - gravel potholes/divets were so bad!
