I’ve attended several (it’s addictive) 6 week throwing courses at The Clayrooms. Sarah and Helen have created a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere and are such kind, patient teachers. They have given me the confidence to try something new, meet lovely people and throw pieces that I am proud of. I’ve even given some of my mugs and pots as gifts. The coffee afterwards is always great too! I would highly recommend booking into a workshop/course. If you are in Ashbourne for the day make sure you visit their gorgeous cafe and creative gift shop.

This place is totally addictive! I’m on my forth 6-week course. Came in as a complete beginner and have had such happy times learning new skills and meeting lovely people. Sarah and Helen are THE most charming and helpful teachers - endlessly patient and kind! Delicious coffee in the little cafe is the perfect icing on the best morning of my week. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately not a great experience- I was very uncomfortable and never got to keep what I’d paid to make and it’s very expensive. Also the two women owners are not very communicative or friendly. I would not recommended this place .

I have been coming to The Clayrooms 6 week courses for a few years now and keep coming back for more. I've made lots of lovely things and had a brilliant time too. Sarah and Helen are great teachers and the whole pottery family are really friendly and welcoming. Fun and relaxing, this is the ultimate mindfulness. There's lots of variety in what sessions are offered and the addition of a lovely coffee bar with great coffee and cake is an added bonus! Highly recommend for anybody who wants to try something new or just needs a bit of me time!!

I went to The ClayRooms for a hen do in January 2023 and we had the best time. It was really fun learning how to throw pots and create handles. The staff were very knowledgable, friendly and helpful. The staff were also so helpful and accommodating prior to the visit, so that the day went very smoothly. We also had one wheelchair user in our group and the staff did an excellent job of making accessible for everyone. Would recommend :)

I had a fabulous day this weekend doing Raku firing with Andy. Everyone was super friendly and very prepared for the hot weather. The day was just superb. The Clay rooms are easy to find and parking very straight forward too. I will definitely be returning to do more workshops. It was a wonderful gift from my husband and I thoroughly recommend the workshop.

My wife and I had a fantastic time at The Clay Rooms, making pinch pots with our children. Helen was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating in my request for the children to all take part. We can't wait to pick up our wares once they've been fired and would definitely recommend The Clay Rooms to others.
