I really love this practice. The staff (reception) are lovely and welcoming both in person and on the phone. Doctors are always available and really help and support in every situation. My little 3-year-old boy has had a difficult time with milk/egg allergies and asthma, and they have been brilliant! Cannot fault them at all, we love the surgery so much that when we had to move, we stayed in the area so we could still be with the surgery.

Like many, I haven't used the surgery for some time and had heard people complain about how difficult it is to get appointments. Yesterday, I phoned at 1:40 with a request to see a doctor. I was allocated a face to face with a doctor at 16:00. Following the appointment I needed a blood test and ECG. This happened at 09:10 today with a Practice nurse. The service I received was amazing but I was told it was not unusual, if things need to happen quickly.

We left this surgery less than a year after joining due to 2 failures on there part which resulted in A & E for my son. More doctors needed since village has doubled in size.

I have nothing but respect for the reception team and the doctors at the surgery. I have been very poorly with long covid and other things, they always call and if need be will see me the same day or the next. They are under huge pressure, but all of them have been amazing!!!! I can't thank them enough with what I've been through, very kinfmd, helpful and a number of times have called ambulances for me, well done Clanfield surgery, you get 5 stars from me!!!

I have been registered with this surgery for 30 years. They are understaffed and overworked. For the last 4 years the service I have received has declined. I will ALWAYS use a pharmacist or NHS 111 whenever I possibly can. I avoid the doctor unless I really need it. You spend a lot of time in phone queues so I use the online referral service. I have had some rather prickly receptionists which make you feel like a thorough inconvenience. However, there is one recently that is more friendly & patient which is a breath of fresh air. I've been called back within a day of an online referral by a receptionist to make a phone appointment weeks later. It's very odd. On two occasions I've been given a phone appointment time and both occasions I've been called at least 15 minutes early meaning I've missed the call. I've then spent ages sat on the phone trying to call back through and ending up in a queue. When I've called back through I've been told I shouldn't have been given a time, it's only approximate, (which makes much more sense as how can they know how other appointments will affect their schedule). I'm so tired of fighting systems to try and get anywhere on the rare occasion I need the doctor. I've spoken to other persons about my particular experience and it doesn't appear to be the same at two other surgeries. It makes me sad that I am considering moving surgery after so many years. I can only assume that this is all down to the current states of developing governmental affairs and a lack of staff. I am shocked and appalled at the overall change in a short space of time and I don't have reasons to believe it can be due to Covid-19 as this trend has begun before the pandemic. I feel concerned for elderly or vulnerable persons who may not be able to navigate these systems in order to speak with a Doctor, or may not understand a call-back system. I have no doubt some of the staff here are doing their absolute best, but the overall experience, compared to how I remember it years ago, is a disappointment. The NHS needs some SERIOUS governmental help.

The Alienated System
This is more on behalf for a friend. She has been trying to see a doctor here for over a year, and due to their lack of care and seemingly incompitance she hasn't been able to see them once. First was around a year ago, she tried to call them and they said "you can only call regarding this issue around 1" ?? She was in college at the time and had lectures around that time, which they don't seem to consider. But she called at that time anyway, and they left her on hold for *10 minutes* and then they hung up on her. Then when she tried to call back it was "too late". She NEEDED to see them very soon and they were just screwing her around. This happened more than once. She never actually got to see them. This happened again with more minor issues, she hasn't had any medical care for a year due to their lack of communication and basically not allowing you to make an appointment. Then let's go to the present day. My friend is still worried she may have cancer due to some of the symptoms showing. It's always always good to check even when it may not be cancer. She tried to make an appointment, they said they'd ring her back. And to no surprise. They didn't. Something this serious and they STILL won't bother. Still trying to call them, they still say the same things, "we'll call back!" And they don't. Infuriating. I do NOT recommend this surgery. I'm not even the one having problems and it's still managed to bother me this much. It's unbelievable how terrible this surgery is. We can't even write a review on the doctor's here because we literally can't see them. My friend is moving surgerys soon. This has gone on for years, but has been very obvious how terrible they are when she's really needed them. Do not go here unless you never want to make appointments.

The reception staff are utterly exceptional. They really try to help and work hard for the patients and are successful in what they do. The flu clinic at the Sports Centre today was extremely well managed. The doctors are also great! Thank you to all!!
