We had an amazing stay at Red Kite lodge, the owners had thought of everything! There were 6 of us staying and we had a really comfortable sleeps, lots of hot water, loved the massive hot tub with the inbuilt speakers. The view of the horses and hills was lovely and the local walks and countryside were great. We'd definitely return.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in the Kingfisher lodge. This particular lodge was more private than the other two. You can be overlooked by people fishing but you can't be seen by your neighbours. The whole surroundings are beautiful and tranquil. There are plenty of walks from your doorstep and pubs nearby within walking distance. We particularly enjoyed the use of the sauna and hot tub after our 14km hike. Would highly recommend this lodge and the chutney, jam and eggs that Gary has for sale too.

We stayed for four nights with our dog. Lovely lodge with a sauna and hot tub which were perfect after the long hikes around the beautiful forests and fields in the area. We had a view of the fishing lake and it was great to be able to watch the comings and goings of the red kite that lives nearby. The check in was very smooth with detailed instructions provided for every aspect of our stay, and Gary was friendly and checked in to see if we needed anything. If you have a dog, there is a gated deck around the lodge so you don't have to worry about them escaping unless they are an acrobat like our dog lol. Our pooch loved the long walks and having a bit more space than the usual hotel room meant we weren't on top of each other the whole time. Highly recommend for a retreat from the city!

Wonderful place to stay to relax, the lodge was equipped with all amenities needed for a few days. The lodge was clean and the furniture comfortable, with a huge bath and a hot tub overlooking the lake. The local area was also good to explore either by foot or by car, highly recommend for some peace and quiet apart from the delightful birdsong. And the fresh eggs were delicious!

A fantastic Easter weekend at the Pool House Lodge, we certainly picked the right time to book, the weather was amazing to use the pool, and lounging in the garden area. This pet friendly lodge was well equipped, clean and well worth another visit from us in the future. Thumbs up from me, the wife and of course George, our pup Yorkie.

We had the most amazing weekend staying at Sparrowhawk! Such a cute area with lovely country walks, pubs and friendly people. We made full use of the hot tub, sauna and kitchen was fully stocked so we could cook dinner one of the nights! Gary was amazing, bringing us fresh eggs and answering any questions we had. The lodge was the perfect setting for our engagement and we are very much looking forward to our next visit!

This place is perfect for a couple looking for a weekend away to just relax. The Peacock is great and really cozy for a drink (be sure to check food service times if you want to eat here as we just missed the lunch shift). Madeline is available to come and do beauty treatments in the lodge which was amazing. We decided not to go out on Saturday and to just enjoy the sauna, hot tub, lovely deep bath and smart TV in the lodge instead. No problems at all getting a takeaway that evening. Sunday we had a later checkout time so enjoyed the last full morning in the lodge. Overall it is beautiful and we would definitely come back again!
