We purchased a chicken house from this company three years ago and was erected at the end of October 2019. The wood is still in pretty good shape after being treated annually, but after an inspection last week we discovered the mesh is crumbling in places. I feel for a chicken house which cost around £400 at the time, the mesh should have lasted far better than this. On contacting the company to complain I was given the details of another company to buy myself some better quality mesh which will now cost around £100. Overall it was a pretty poor experience. The photo shows what to expect from the mesh at the three year point.

I do not recommend this company - by far the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Really disappointed with the quality of the metal chicken run; I wouldn't know where to start with listing the issues as there's so many, but the roof didn't fit and the first breeze blew it over causing extensive damage. There aren't any accurate photographs of the product you're purchasing on the website - now we know why. I called TCHC to enquire about the roof before purchasing and was reassured it fitted the whole run and was attached by bungee cords. Much of the metal work has snapped, leaving very sharp edges. I have asked for a refund, but according to TCHC I'm not entitled despite being within 30 days of purchase and the poor quality item not being as described or fit for purpose IN MY OPINION (apparently, this is just MY opinion according to TCHC). I am left with no run for my chickens; the run is currently being weighted down with huge logs to prevent it blowing away while I find the time and an appropriate and responsible way of disposing of it. What's most concerning is the welfare of animals being housed in such poorly made products. After numerous emails and a lengthy phone call, the best TCHC can offer is spare parts so I can repair it myself after a week's use and sell it on. I don't see the point of receiving more poor quality parts when the same thing is likely to happen again in the slightest breeze and my conscience would not allow me to pass it on to another unsuspecting chicken keeper trying to do the best for their birds. Also, the fact that the previous Chicken House Company run by this couple went into liquidation certainly gives cause for concern.

I don't normally write reviews, however The Chicken House Company have been superb from the very beginning. My wife and I didn't exactly know what we were looking for in a combined chicken run & coop and reached out to a few manufacturers, and The Chicken House Company answered every one of our queries from the initial email in a timely fashion and over the course of a further 12 emails, going over different options and providing advice, resulting in us eventually settling on The Buckingham with upgrades to 16g mesh, 16mm shiplap roof and a 180cm extension. Once we placed the order, they advised us of a provisional delivery date and got back in touch right on time, with the unit turning up on time a few days later. The workmanship on The Buckingham is exceptional, with everything fitting together as expected, and came supplied with plenty of fixings. Overall I can't fault The Chicken Company and would highly recommend the company, and specifically The Buckingham to anyone looking for a combined chicken run & coop. Thanks Lewis, Louise and the rest of The Chicken House Company team!

I bought a coop worth £299 but the quality was poor. Not very happy with the coop material, the moment I pierce a screw it cracked at places, some material was already slightly defective. I contacted the seller after a week to inform and got a very cold response. Design is good though.

I paid £300 for a medium insulated thermoplastic dog kennel from this company, only to find that it drips a huge amount of condensation on the inside, making my dog and her bedding soaking wet every night. The company's solution was that I should either cut ventilation into the kennel or try set up artificial heating inside it, both of which defeat the purpose of why I bought this particular kennel in the first place. In summary, do not buy this kennel if you keep your dog outside over winter - it cannot keep your dog dry without additional expense and modification. UPDATE: the company has said they offered me a refund; this is not true (I'm not sure if they're either honestly mistaken or intentionally lying, but if they provide me with a copy of an email they sent offering me a refund I'll obviously retract this)
