Used to be open, but now only the museum and the chapel are open next door. Should've it been available for a fee but without a tour, would worth a visit.

The hour long tour was excellent! You only go through about 5 rooms plus the courtyards, but our guide was excellent in giving its very unique history, people and current use in an engaging and occasionally humourous way - going through its initial inception as a burial ground, to the monastery, demolition then manor house building post-Henry VIII, and later turning it into an almshouse for the poor and school for promising boys (and still used for the elderly). Make sure to prebook especially if the weekend as we saw a few people were turned away at the desk because of space. There is also a small museum and chapel that gave details on the history, key people, way of life, etc. For facilities: there are two single toilets at the front in the reception/gift shop area.

A fascinating preserved piece of London history still in use today. Changed and expanded over the years by various monarchs and owners it is a snapshot of many periods of time. As well as the buildings there are some amazing green spaces and tended gardens. Small oasis's in a busy city. Well worth a visit and tour.
