I have been a Christian since University aged 20 in a very small student church and attending STAG since coming back to faith in May last year aged 26, with that being only my second, but by far largest, church I have been to. STAG is an excellent church with biblically sound teaching that reflects a love for God and Jesus and the message of the cross. My partner is Australian and went to a Pentecostal church much like C3 for almost all her life before STAG, and so this Easter weekend just gone, I decided to go to the C3 morning service to see what I thought of this style of worship, on a weekend where the message of the Cross has never been more important. Firstly, I was welcomed by a lovely lady called Rachel who was outstandingly attentive, she asked me all the right questions, made me feel welcomed and showed me around the facilities and explained what they had at the church for people of my age group midweek, and on a sunday. She was fantastic. She alone gets 5* as there is no doubt that anyone being welcomed by such a lovely lady would feel confident enough to stay and hear about Jesus and God and take that first step to understanding the complex message of Christ's sacrifice and its' significance. Thank you Rachel! The services are outlandish compared to what i'm used to in the Church of England, but i've seen Hillsong and was not surprised by the fervor and enthusiasm with which ones spirit is raised to connect with God's holy spirit during worship. I think that, while a little unorthadox and often dangerously close to taking the focus away from God and Jesus, worship of this kind is fun, a genuine way to show love for Jesus, and accessible to those who simply find reading and comprehension of the bible very difficult or impossible for whatever reasons. This kind of church is very welcoming, inclusive and accessible (with what I noticed was an incredibly heavily international and working class congregation compared to STAG- I myself am from Norwich and a working class family). All important characteristics when spreading the good news of Jesus to those who may be skeptical. As CS Lewis said in his book, "Mere Christianity", you don't need to understand how God works in impossible detail to benefit from Jesus' sacrifice at the Cross, just as you don't need to understand nutritional science to benefit from a healthy meal. For this reason I think this Church is good and fills a necessary void that more pretentious churches of the CofE leave vacant and accesses those communities they fail to reach as the UK populace is no longer majority Christian. However, Paul's warnings in Corinthians about Churches gone astray and who've lost their focus on Jesus, and the Bible ought to be mentioned. I think this is a massive danger for these kinds of churches. I am not saying this church is there yet however, as they did distribute bibles at their Easter Sunday service and clearly have good intentions where Jesus remains central, but the teaching quality, I'm afraid to say, lost them the star in this review. I do not expect to go to a church on Easter Sunday for the senior pastor to state outright that his talk on "ultimate hope" that he would give on this greatest day in the Christian calendar, was entirely plagiarized following a google search. I do expect more integrity and quality control, and simple effort to be put in to a church service on Easter Sunday. Having planes draw messages in the sky is fine, but this really did knock my confidence in what I was seeing. I never needed to open a bible once, and the equivalent of around 10 verses were utilized in the entirety of the service, filled with emotive songs, but not biblical. However, it is tough to find an accepting and accessible church with an active community. I hope that my feedback might help people making a decision on attending here, and also assist the leaders of the Church in their efforts to glorify our God. I will return with friends who need the message of Jesus and are skeptical of the CofE, but caution is advised with this style of church.

The C3 Church Cambridge is like a home away from home. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, and clearly, people really matter. The building itself is modern, and the main church sanctuary is comfortable. The only challenge I had the first time I went there was finding the door! Made us smile anyway!!
