Have been emailing for a while now with no response inquiring about the classes and to taxidermy my own frozen animals (which they said is okay on their website). Find it unprofessional not to answer emails…

Tonja is a thief and a scam artist. She begins very polite and friendly to encourage you to purchase. Once purchase has been made, all up front, you then receive no information, no timescales and are left constantly chasing to find out what's going on. I made this massive error and have been waiting over 2 yrs! I am now trying to get my money returned from Ms Grung and she has refused. It appears she is actually a scam artist as opposed to a taxidermy artist! My advice to anyone, is stay well clear from Tonja's services. Try London Taxidermy, or Get Stuffed. These are a much better option. I wish I was able to turn back the time as I would stay well clear from Ms Grung and Made from the Dead Taxidermy.

Wow! Just returned from a two day crow course with Tonja and it was amazing. The piece I have returned with is beautiful. Tonja made my friend and I feel incredibly welcome and comfortable and, more importantly, made the course fun and informative. I've done other courses before and was always made to feel like asking for help, or asking questions, was a massive inconvenience. This was the complete opposite with Tonja, who went over and above to help and explain the process. I cannot recommend this course enough and will definitely be going back!

In July 2019 I was bought the mole taxidermy course for later in the year (a Monday in November). I emailed Tonja 4 or 5 times to ask to change the course to a weekend one, and to pay more money to make up the difference in course costs.. I don't live in London so was unable to get to the original course on a Monday evening. I explained this to her clearly and, as above, several times with little... well, basically no response over the months... September through to November. The November date got closer and eventually passed. Tonja replied to one email to say I could switch courses, but the weekend course I wanted was a matter of days away and it was too close for me to rearrange weekend plans and to sort travel. I then asked for a refund - Tonja offered this as an option, so I agreed; it had been too difficult to arrange anything with the company and communication was dire... I wanted the money back. Again, several weeks and emails later and nothing. She replied once to say there was a problem with Eventbrite booking system or something like that- and since then nothing. I'm pretty fair when it comes to dealing with small businesses... services that are slow to respond or who have messed up - happy to give the benefit of the doubt. However, it's been 4 months now and I'm not sure that I'll see the ~£60 that the course cost... I last emailed her yesterday, and now I'm writing this review. I hope that this will encourage her to put things right and we can both move on.

I recently completed the small mammal taxidermy course under the expert guidance of Tonja Grung. It was an excellent experience and well worth my time and money - fascinating, fun and creative in equal measure. And at the end of just one day of tuition I was taking home with me a surprisingly lifelike first taxidermy effort which amazed my family. Tonja is a great teacher and obvious expert on her subject - and I will be back for more!

When looking for a 2 day taxidermy course there were a few options around and I finally settled on the British Academy with tonja. Knowing plenty of people who have done courses elsewhere, and having seen their results, I’m incredible thankful I did. Tonja is incredibly skilled and an excellent teacher, she’s great company and will help you produce some outstanding results. I’ll be back as soon as I can to create some new work and cannot recommend her classes highly enough. Look no further if you’re looking for classes in taxidermy, you’ve found the best.

Really excellent. Was incredibly lucky to have been gifted a crow taxidermy course for my birthday and was so happy with the class and the piece I came away with. I've taken taxidermy classes with another company before but Tonya's class was above and beyond comparison; she is insanely knowledgeable, thorough, helpful and a wonderful and fun teacher. Two days whizzed by in her magical little studio full of incredible pieces. I'm so happy with my crow and definitely couldn't have achieved such a lovely result without her excellent and expert guidance. Will be returning as soon as I can for more stuffing!! Can't recommend highly enough. Thank you Tonja!! Xx
