Both my children attended this school. my neurotypical child was treated well and loved the school, my autistic child was discriminated against, given behaviour plans instead of SEN plans, and forced out of the school. There are many stories like this

I was at the Brighton Waldorf School from when I started kindergarten in 1991 until I graduated with my GCSEs in 2004. I loved my time at the school and hope to send my own children to a Waldorf school should I have any. The school always felt safe and nurturing and I feel my education was a really nice balance of academic subjects and creative persuits, allowing me to focus on writing and music and languages, a combination that has led to working as a culture journalist based in the Middle East.

I had a wonderful time at the school. I started in Kindergarten at age 4 and was in the first class to take GCSE's in 2003. I have fond memories of my time there and am still great friends with many of my class mates and their siblings. After moving through higher education, travelling and working I find myself back in this wonderful community with some of my school friends now sending their little ones to the kindergarten! I still love learning and thank my teachers for the supportive, positive and happy learning environment they created.

The Waldorf school is amazing, my son's confidence has grown and grown! The school has given him the freedom to be himself and express his ideas. During Covid19 the school was able to still provide a full education for my son, he used Google class rooms and had several meetings all day covering many subjects. We know that main stream school were not able to do this.

My daughter started at Brighton Waldorf school in March last year after moving here from abroad, and our experience so far couldn't be better! Their positive, nurturing outlook and wholesome philosophy has done wonders for my daughter's confidence and happiness. My daughter loves school and comes back super excited, telling me about her day. They are really creating a love for life and learning at that school, which to me is one of the most important things a school can teach our kids nowadays. I as a mum also really enjoy our supportive and friendly community. It was the perfect start for me and my daughter here in Brighton and I am looking forward to the years to come :)
