Extremely informative and comprehensive tour with a knowledgeable guide whose love of Bournville shone through. The view from the tower was far reaching and did the garden suburb proud as the mesmerising bells rang out expertly played by the resident Carilloner. A thoroughly recommended experience.

The carillon is a wonderful building overlooking Bournville Green and is part of the primary school. Once a week (Saturdays ) they have guides tours and once a year they have a taster tour as part of the Bournville Heritage Day. The tour includes a trip (up some pretty narrow and steep spiral stairs ) to the roof to see the bells and to see and hear the clavier (a kind of keyboard) play the collection of bells. Pretty impressive stuff (also wonderful to hear the carillon bells on Christmas Eve at the annual carol service )
