What can I say about this place? The atmosphere was really nice we were sat straight away at a table that overlooks the river, we were sat downstairs which I was initially disappointed about but I was pleasantly surprised by the views. The staff were really attentive without being pushy, they were always there when you needed them. The food was excellent we started with padron peppers and halloumi fries. For mains my wife had the special of market fish which was plaice. She commented on how light and well balanced it all was. I had the pork belly which I initially thought was too small but as I got through the meal found it to be well balanced and just the right amount. For dessert my wife had the special tarte tatin and I had the cheese board, the blue cheese was a personal favourite. Overall it was a fantastic early evening helped by the weather being fantastic, wouldn't hesitate to go back or recommend to friends or family, it really was a great experience - can't wait to go back.

Nice staff, friendly atmosphere, beautiful location. Roast dinner looked good but the ingredients weren't top quality, the meat was tough, vegetables a boiled mess, potatoes good... desserts are excellent and so is the coffee. As others have said, don't try to drive your car into the narrow entrance, go to the car park down the main road.

Dear Owner, Staff are grumpy and discourteous on the second floor. Ok, so we didn't have a booking but I am polite and was throughout the enslaught. Themes to my experience.. Staff not polite: The polish lady argued with me because I said I was sitting at table number 91, she kept telling me this was table 92. I did show her where I was, then she had trouble interpreting my diction. I was born in Hampstead and my diction is generally universally understood. When I asked the supervisor on the floor where my food was she was also quite odd with me, she actually threw my plate onto the table. Quality and price of the food: My food arrived late, the undercooked lamb was more than pink but raw in places, about 10 minutes later the broccoli tender stems arrived along with the fries and the hollandaise was solid like a paste. The lamb is £28 the portion is small. The balance of flavour for the price was also poor and was over salted. Dress code for staff: Sweat pants may be comfortable but are not appropriate for wearing to work in a professional setting. Questions: Have you been taken over by new management? Why were the staff so unhappy? Why were the staff so rude? Kind regards, Lord Dean Somers-Dowell
