I started to look for a piano teacher since my daughter was 6 years old. I managed to enrol her into one of the renowned music school in city centre. However she was still struggling to play with both hands while reading the scores after spending nearly a year of lessons there. Due to covid-19 and lack of progression, I withdrew her from that lessons. Until this year June 2021, I tried to search for piano teacher again and I would say one of the best thing that happened in 2021 is to have found Sean, the piano teacher for my 8 year old daughter. Sean is brilliant, inspiring, patient, encouraging, friendly and talented. He has extensive musical knowledge and experience in teaching piano. His teaching method is thorough and instructive, which I believe it helps building a solid foundation for my daughter to develop her interests and skills in playing piano. Within 5 months of lessons, my daughter was able to sit for her first ever piano exam in November and she achieved outstanding results. Sean deserves 5-star rating for his excellence and I highly recommend The Birmingham Piano & Music Studio.

My 9 year old has been with Sean for 2 years now, during these two years, she has improved a lot, from Prep Test to Grade 4 practical , music theory, as well as her attitude towards music. We are really happy with the progress she has made, and most importantly, my daughter likes his lessons, he is fun, he is strict, and he has so much knowledge to offer. It is hard to find a good piano teacher, as we have been searching for one since she was five, so we are very grateful we found Sean, and we would certainly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a good piano teacher.

I have been having piano lessons with Sean for just over 2 years. As a 40 year old complete beginner I expected my progress to be quite slow but thanks to Sean's focused, friendly and relaxed approach I have improved much faster than I expected and have enjoyed every minute. Sean's broad knowledge of music and music theory, in particular the piano, and his passion for the subject inspires me to continue to practice, improve and further develop my own knowledge and ability. Alongside the lessons Sean regularly arranges parties at which students can perform if they want as well as group trips to various concerts and shows. These are always good fun and also add to the learning experience. Being a student at the Birmingham Piano and Music Studio feels very much like being part of a family, everyone is very supportive and encouraging and there is a wide ranging age group from very young to more mature students. Thanks to Sean's continued encouragement and teaching, playing the piano has become a very important part of my life. I spent a few months trying to find a piano teacher for my 7 year old granddaughter and chose Sean as he seemed to have a professional attitude and premises to teach from, my granddaughter has been going there for 12 months now and has really enjoyed going and is working hard towards her next grade. I have been having lessons with Sean for about 2 years. At first I thought it would be a passing hobby & I would give it up as quick as I started. He has an excellent teaching style on a one to one basis offering encouragement and always being there on the end of the line no matter where he is , whenever I have run into any difficulties. I always look forward to my next lesson where he gives above & beyond to myself & all of his students. Originally I had no intention of investing in a piano or taking exams. Sean has made me believe I am capable.
