They cancelled my multi-day stay the week before due to their own scheduling blunder. No apology, no attempt to work it out. Didn't refund my money until I went to the 3rd party site. They didn't care and was slow to reply which made me scramble to get replacement at high cost.

1 working shower between probably 25+ guests at the time I was staying. There were 3 more but they were in total disrepair and had obviously been that way for some time Uncooperative staff. For example setting out breakfast at the normal time but refusing to let any guests in because they'd arbitrarily decided that 31 Dec they were opening breakfast late even though staff were there at the normal time and could have allowed guests in to eat as normal. On checkout they were surprised we were checking out and scolded us for not announcing it to them the day before even though our booking was ending that day anyway. Was weird When we arrived one of our bookings was mysteriously not on their system and we had to rebook it. Two days later we were discussing with another person in our dorm who had the identical situation, except one of his party was forced to find somewhere to stay in London at ultra short notice because Birds was fully booked The bunks themselves were fine but that was about the only thing about this place which was not rubbish!
