FAQ

What is your experience and training in craniosacral therapy?

At The Bay Therapy Centre, our therapists have extensive training and experience in craniosacral therapy. We have completed specialized courses and certifications in this field and continue to stay up-to-date with the latest techniques and research.

How does craniosacral therapy differ from other types of manual therapy?

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that focuses on the bones of the head, spinal column, and sacrum. It is a holistic approach that aims to release tension and improve the function of the nervous system, while other types of manual therapy may focus on muscles, joints, or soft tissue.

Can craniosacral therapy be helpful for my specific condition or symptoms?

Craniosacral therapy has been shown to be helpful for a wide range of conditions and symptoms, including headaches, chronic pain, anxiety, and sleep disorders. However, each person is unique, and we will work with you to tailor a treatment plan to meet your individual needs.

How many sessions will I need and what can I expect during a typical session?

The number of sessions you will need will depend on your specific condition and how your body responds to treatment. During a typical session, you will lie fully clothed on a massage table while the therapist uses gentle touch to identify and release areas of tension in the body. Sessions usually last around an hour.

What is your approach to integrating craniosacral therapy with other treatments or therapies I may be receiving?

We believe in a collaborative approach to healthcare and will work with you and your other healthcare providers to develop a treatment plan that best meets your needs. We may recommend craniosacral therapy as a complementary therapy to other treatments or therapies you are receiving.

Would score 0 if I could. Receptionist was sweet - so star can go to her. Was referred to pain clinic due to Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, and constant pain due to complexity of condition. Plus further developed ailments, accelerated by M.E, such as Degenerative Disk Disease. Was told to explain the worst symptoms. Seizures and blackouts. Was then accused of focusing on the negatives. Was told to ‘view my pain’ differently. That I need to try to walk more. (I use a chair) That the therapist, Kira, has developed Grey hairs, and that she doesn’t like them, but has to live with them, as I should live with my pain. Which is often a 10/10. In comparison to being stamped into the ground by a horse at a 7/10, i’d choose the horse every time. There is NO ignoring my pain. Was told the problem with my pain, is my mind. Spent roughly £1000 on Private Physiatric investigation due to accusations like this. Waste of my zero energy. Have been in worse pain emotionally, plus physically, since appointment. I’d stay at home.

This is a calm welcoming place. Everyone who works at the Bay is extremely friendly and professional offering a high standard . The people on reception are always extremely helpful. I have used its services and also recently used it as a venue for training. I recommend it highly for both.
