Lovely place to chill. We had the luxury cabin and found it very comfortable. Beautiful views both in the distance and out into the gardens with lovely ducks swimming around on the pond. Hot tub very nice but pricey. Very powerful jets, great for relaxing. Worth it as a treat. Food delicious. Nearby activities: Good dog walk very close by.

Walkability: Great walking area behind the property. Food & drinks: Great pub nearby and there's an estate not too far with restaurants.

If you are looking for a quiet place to rest and be pampered by excellent vegan food… you cannot miss The Base Vegan Retreat! The breakfast is plentiful and very good and the tea… fantastic!!! Finally we were able to try the famous five o'clock tea with a wide choice of both sweet and savory! Not to forget the funny ducks, the adorable turkeys and the nice rabbits that live there to which you can bring fruit and vegetables 🤩

We had a lovely stay for a Hen do. The lodge is gorgeous, lots of space and really cosy and warm. Hosts were amazing and were super helpful if we needed anything. I will be coming back with my kids next time as staying somewhere with animals running free, all around you, and coming over for a cuddle is something not to be missed. 10/10! Rooms: Beds were incredibly comfy in the lodge!

Had the most wonderful birthday weekend staying at The Base Vegan Retreat. The area was very peaceful and I felt really relaxed and secure. I enjoyed being able to look out onto all the lovely animal residents at the sanctuary. It was very easy to find and we had no issue parking outside. The owners were very warm and welcoming. They were very interesting to talk to and nothing was too much of an ask. We stayed in the double room with a garden view, but we also got to look around the standard double room as we had friends staying there. They were a good size and spotless! The beds, I believe, were king size and very comfortable which meant I had a wonderful night's sleep. The showers were lovely and spacious with good water pressure, the bathroom had an electric toothbrush charger built into the wall which was super handy! I appreciated the Smart TV in the rooms which meant we were able to cast our phones to watch whatever we liked. We had the sausage sandwiches for breakfast. We also had cupcakes, juice and smoothies. Everything was absolutely delicious. My non-vegan partner also enjoyed them very much. The only issue for us personally was that we were spending a lot on taxis because we had made a lot of plans which were based in Bristol city centre which is around a 20-30 minute drive away (...and as the birthday girl I had no intention of driving!). There are good bus links into town and there is a bus stop very close by at the top of the hill, but depending on where you are off to, you may need to allow yourself around an hour travel time. However, that's not a reflection on the accommodation, but something to be mindful of when booking if you don't drive or want to take the car into town. For me, it was a massive comfort to be able to stay somewhere where I didn't have to worry if any of the food or toiletries were vegan. I don't think you need to be vegan to enjoy this place as my partner and friends were not vegan and they had a lovely time. We would love to stay here again. I've already been eyeing up the cabin for our next visit! Thank you The Base Vegan Retreat for having us! And thank you for everything you do for the animals.

We visited, The Base Retreat, for a couple of day’s relaxation. The room we stayed in was very clean. It had an en suite. Coffee and tea making facilities provided and a mini fridge. The bed was extremely comfortable. We had a couple of meals pre booked and they were delicious. This was our first visit at The Base Retreat and we will be returning when we visit Bristol/ Bath again. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed seeing the animals living their best life.
