Nice cosy theatre. The musical I saw wasn't good, but the thearte was, and the student actors had good voices and tried the hardest. There are toilets on ground and top floors, cafe on the 1st floor. Fun to be near the light and sound engineer, but you won't see the heads of the actors if they decide to stand on "balcony" on the scene. So you sometimes listen to headless bodies singing, a bit funny. I hope they read this review to learn they seriously need to consider offering subtitles, they have all technology and can cater for those who struggle with possible accents, diction or not hearing well for other reasons.

What a splendid little venue. We went to a "never give up" evening hosted by some incredible selfless people based in Gilesgate who try to convince suicidal people to give life a go and feel positive about themselves.The evening was an absolute smorgasbord of talent, how lucky are we to live in a university city? We were alerted to this event by Steve Pledger on Facebook. An incredibly talented singer songwriter who we had the pleasure of seeing at Durham Town Hall. We felt as humble as Steve did in the presence of these wonderful human beings, so typical of him to work with such a worthwhile project. We will have to visit the Assembly Rooms again soon.
