The last time I was at the Ashmolean Museum was in the late 1960s and I have NO recollection of ever having visited the café. I recently looked at the Ashmolean on Google maps with a view to a possible, future visit to an exhibition. Since I have provided Google with permission to use the location of my mobile it's clear that I have NOT travelled to Oxford . . . so WHY does Google ask me QUESTIONS about places which I CLEARLY have NOT visited ? IS IT STUPIDITY OR A WISH TO BE ANNOYING ?

A modern cafe to rest your feet after looking at non-modern artefacts. Typical cafe selection, with pastries, cakes and coffee. Service can be slow when busy.

We visited the Ashmolean cafe with friends, after researching online to ensure that gluten free options were on offer. However we found that no gluten free sandwiches were available as they are made off site and brought in. My only option was some cold, unappetising frittata served with limp looking salad. Not the best choice on a very cold day. My friends did opt for the frittata and a very tired looking Brie and cranberry ciabatta which was extremely unpleasant. I was forced to leave the museum in order to visit a supermarket close by and purchase some gluten free sandwiches which I consumed at the table with my friends. This is definitely not an experience I wish to repeat. Very disappointing for such a prominent and prestigious centre of tourism.

We love this cafe! The food is good but not quite perfect. It's the location that makes it really special.

This is a review of the rooftop cafe and restaurant. We didn't eat here, we had a coffee in the afternoon sun so it was a delightful location for that. The staff were helpful and attentive.
