Because the kettle had white gung in it. It wasn't calcium but soft white discusting. Had Ribs and coujons at the pub. Was overfried and dry. Cheap and cheerful otherwise.

Nice rooms, pub is nice too for food, there was a little cat by the rooms too and it was super cuddly and friendly! If you’re flying from Stansted definitely book a taxi about a week or two before hand

Perfect location offering parking and overnight parking at a reanable rate. I booked through Holiday Extras who use the description accessible, probably as the ground is flat, but what is not is wheelchair accessible as there is shingle on the route to the door which make it impossible to reach by wheelchair. However, the gentleman who directed me to the annexe was excellent. He carried my wheelchair for me to the property while my wife supported me to walk. He then parked my car for me, opposite at the pub in an extremely convenient place. Superb service. A taxi to departures was 10 euros through a company called Associated Taxis. A young Romanian guy took us and we arrived within 11 minutes. Again, very helpful. Be aware that the property is close to Stansted main runway so can be noisy at night, but it eventually ceased about 1am.

This was NOT a nice place to stay. It was very dirty, dark and dingy! You can also hear everybody else around you; we were kept up most of the night from the noise. The pub was over priced and also advertised a ‘vegan menu’ but we were then told they didn’t cater for vegans which was quite disappointing. Rooms : 1/5 | Service : 2/5 | Location : 2/5 … More

If you're expecting the hotel experience then give this a miss. However if you want somewhere cheap and cheerful to lay your head then it hits the mark. It is rough and ready but has all you need for a night before a flight. What did concern me was the water situation. Whilst all other reviews mention no hot water, ours was literally scalding with no way to turn it down!! Health and safety? However the proximity to the airport is perfect.
