Ruined what should have been a pleasant experience. Had a reservation post work. Steak was decent but dessert could be improved. Got up to go to the toilet to wash my hands and my waiter ran after me randomly from the bar stating ‘you need to pay.’ I replied I am going toilet, she backed away apologising. Upon return I asked her for the bill. Before settling I jokingly asked if I get a discount for her thinking I was dining and dashing. She laughed and said sorry people do it all the time and thought you were too. I paid leaving in shock. In hindsight, this was nothing short of discrimination and profiling. I already had a bad day at work and this was the final nail in the coffin. Ironically this behaviour came from an ethnic minority that stereotypically would be associated with such affairs. Even though I did not get to see any live jazz performances this experience led to a very jazzy night! To future diners I recommend asking when ordering if their waiter will chase them like France chasing after Argentina during world cup. The only fault I can attribute to myself is my lack of escalation to management straightaway, not asking waiter’s name and leaving a service charge. The latter I hope now goes towards staff training for this waiter on proper decorum.

Archduke should understand that it is not OK to write your menu one way but cook or prepare your food another! When I ordered the Beef bourguignon, I was expecting something cooked in an authentic way or close enough, the least. They brought me a slightly undercooked flavourless beef stew. Beef bourguignon is cooked in wine. This is where its name comes from. To add to that, my starter, chicken and mushrooms pate, which was nice, but it came with toasted slices of white bread while the menu reads it comes with sourdough bread. Nobody even mentioned that they would serve it this way this time. They took the liberty to change it without mentioning and hoped for the best!
