After a solid first visit for Sunday lunch, our follow-up appointment was rather disappointing. By 1:30pm on Sunday the kitchen had run out of pork, so a number of our party had to choose alternate options. When the pork did arrive it was an end-piece that was 90% fat and had to be sent back. No professional kitchen should have put this on a plate. The Asparagus salad contained an avocado (one of the main ingredients) that was unripe and inedibly firm, to the extent that it was hard to believe whoever had prepared it could have been unaware of the fact. The horseradish cream was notable chiefly for the absence of horseradish, and likewise had to be sent back. I can of course accept that kitchens have off-days and mistakes happen. However, I would expect waiting staff to be able to identify and acknowledge when a table has experienced numerous culinary errors in one sitting, and to proactively offer an apology or some concessions in recognition of this fact. Unfortunately, this did not happen and we found them to be sometimes abrupt, and in general quite disinterested in the issues we had experienced. This did not make me want to rush back. This is a nice pub with a good ambiance, and under new management appears to have high aspirations for the quality of the experience it delivers. However, the food and the level of service cannot continue to misfire at the same time if it hopes to realise these ambitions.

Just had lunch at the Andover Arms; what a truly special place this is! A great room with Luke and Suzanne’s warm friendly welcome, an excellent Guinness to savour the menu; six perfect oysters first, then a crab salad, nose to tail pork, avocado with asparagus and that monkfish with pancetta?! Wowwwww! And a Lavender Panacotta and the best Flat White ive had! Thank you both for a great meal and i look forward to trying the steak very soon!!

Had Sunday lunch at this Fuller's pub and oh my it was incredible.l! The oyster was fresh, pork belly was beautifully cooked with the crackling perfectly crispy and the pork just melt in your mouth tender. Everything about the meal was excellent and I really couldn't fault it. Definitely coming back here again another day!
