We booked a room with two separate beds. Unfortunately, we got a room with a single double bed. When booking the hotel, there was no mention of a noisy nightclub anywhere. Sure, they give you free earplugs, but I surely would have liked to know before booking. The only upside is the location. You're right at the center of the city. I can't really recommend this hotel unless you are willing to sacrifice your comfort and sleep.

The Amsterdam Hotel is right on the front, great view of the pier and a bar/club underneath. The room came with complimentary ear plugs which is a consider thought as it is a noisy position - we knew this when we booked and wouldn't recommend staying here with children for that reason. The walls are thin enough to hear the neighbours TV and walking across the room. Our room was a good size, toiletries in the bathroom and clean towels, free wifi and the ceiling fan was useful. My only criticism is the lazy housekeeping, significant amount of dust on the floor, on the tables, tv, wall, skirting boards, headrest etc etc which I cleaned on arrival. We asked for the room to be serviced and the bed wasn't made, the cups were rinsed not washed - so there were still coffee rings round the inside. I feel this could be an excellent hotel if the staff cared a bit more rather than charging premium rate to ride on the location only. £170 per night with no breakfast option... Nearby activities: Close to the pier, sea life centre, bars, pubs and shops.
