I have put 3 star, because of the problems trying to get a prescription sent to my chosen chemist, I joined the practise in July (I moved area) twice my prescription went to their chosen chemist, short version: I ask my chosen chemist to request my prescription be sent to them, that was Monday, many promises later, I drove to the chemist yesterday (Friday) still not sent, both myself & the chemist proprietor spoke to one of the receptionist who blamed the proprietor!!! So I have to go without meds over the weekend!!! Not exceptable. Carol Dropped to 1 star ⭐️ 22nd Dec 2022 I’ve been refused a prescription after I was promised an emergency one about a week ago, this surgery is a disgrace, I’m lead to believe 15 admin staff have been Replaced in recent times, the doctors & 98 % of Nurses have been fabulous since I joined the practise, I’ve been over a week Without my blood pressure meds, a nurse told me never suddenly stop taking them!! But clearly the Admin staff have decided there not so important, I’m at my wits end & very stressed, I tried emailing but the email I copied & pasted from the website is incorrect as two Have bounced back, so I’m left with no blood pressure tablets, out of date tablets I happened to find for other reasons, atm I have thyroid meds, but for how long, I’m to scared to look! 🙏🏻

I've needed to contact this surgery a lot over the last 7 months or so. Every interaction I have had at the surgery has been very pleasant. I particularly would like to thank the receptionists - every time I have spoken to a receptionist here, they have been incredibly helpful and patient. I've had some poor experiences with GP surgeries in the past, whereas The Abingdon Surgery has always been fantastic for me!

Don't expect anyone answering the telephone to be pleasant - they are curt, rude, unhelpful and hang up in your ear. A few phone manners would come in handy, especially when talking to people who are ill.

Been with this surgery for years and it used to be great, it’s going downhill fast now though and today tops the lot. Filled out a renewal form for my medical exemption certificate in the surgery at the beginning of October, called today,2nd November, to make sure it had been sent as mine ran out on the 28 October only to be told it looks like it hasn’t even been signed by the Doctor yet and they had no clue what was going on with it!!!! I bet they don’t call me back like they said they would either.

I rarely need to call or use the Surgery, but whenever I do it’s always a straight toward process. Called today for my husband, emailed over a photo as requested, Dr called way before they said they would and prescription collected within 3 hours of initial phone call! Excellent service.
