Thanet District Council has failed its community. Our beaches, services and public spaces are absolute rubbish. Properties are left incomplete and no enforcement is made to developers who fail to complete them. Litter is allowed to lay in place or blow around the entire isle. Fly tipping is left to rot. Councillors don’t even respond to their constituents. Traffic and roads are a nightmare considering the actual amount of people who live here. For the amount of council tax being collected, you expect to at least have SOME service from the very people your money employs. The rating of 1.5 starts says it all. Deplorable.

The website would not let me pay for my garden waste so I got through on the phone to pay. Now I have received another request for payment. the web site wants me to register another property. Surely if they are offering the service it should be possible to pay without loosing 2 hours trying to pay and I have still to ring them tomorrow as now they are closed!!

I just had the pleasure of speaking to a lovely lady named Alison Watkins in the housing benefit dept . I had a massive issue with a housing/council tax claim ( on behalf of a family member ) and she went above and beyond to sort it all out for me . Well done Alison your a star ⭐ thank you for your kindness and the compassion that you gave to me while sorting out the issues that I had .

Lack of refuse and dog waste bins along parts of the seafront is shocking! Graffiti is rife (and not "good" graffiti a la Banksy!). Public toilets are either closed or inadequate in their facilities. Locals are keen to help and improve areas but any enthusiasm is squashed by TDC officials.I could continue...Very sad.
