I booked the Thames Lido for our wedding anniversary as a surprise for my wife having seen it recommended somewhere online. I didn't know what to expect to be honest. The journalist who recommended it said it was a bit of a day retreat which we both needed after a hectic few months. Within ten minutes of arriving, it genuinely felt like we were on holiday. We were almost transported somewhere overseas!! This place is incredible. A genuine oasis of calm and peace. We spent two hours chilling by the pool...managing a few lengths, then we spent ten minutes in the steam room which was divine. Before we both finished off with a massage each which was so relaxing. Make sure you book Adri for your message!! This review could be an essay. I have so much to say. Everything about the experience was just out of this world, so much so, that we didn't want to leave. In the end we had lunch by the pool before we eventually had to tear ourselves away to get back to our kids. Honestly and truly, the Thames Lido is everything that we could have wished for and more. The staff, the service, the spa, the general laid back vibes, the treatments on offer, the showers (!!!!), the ambience, the interiors, the architecture.....even the shower gel is infectiously good. We haven't been to Soho Farmhouse but something tells me this is a similar vibe but without the pretentiousness of everyone swanning round wearing sunglasses indoors looking cool. We're not interested in that vibe, thank you. So forget that place and come to Thames Lido which just oozes class and a self assuredness which we both loved. We will be back and we cannot wait. In the meantime we will be recommending this place to literally EVERYONE we know. It's not cheap but it is worth every penny. You get what you pay for in life, after all. Amazing, amazing place.
