Great pies, best I’ve had for a long time. Their “fat rascal”, can’t remember what they call it, is better than the real deal

I’ve just had 2x cheese and tomato paninis for the 2nd time in 4 weeks. Absolutely 100% delicious. I’d say best toasties in England for sure. Well done. The shop has so many cool things too.

Stop for a drink on a hot day. Wouldn’t take card payment for a 59p drink and offered to charge me 3 quid instead 😂

Visited a few days ago.Was once an excellent place to eat. 5*.Came pretty regular 2018 onwards, and prior to Covid. I usually sat outside in the small Courtyard, it was nice but its not clean out there now. Very thick Cobwebs hang from under & around the signage, the corners, and over the creepers, the table had a thick black dusty film on the table cloth, i cleaned down with wet wipes. The area was very grubby and dusty. It needs a really good scrub down out there. Food left was always put in boxes to take home, you get handed a paper bag now. What happened?Has it changed hands? Staff still lovely & food i ordered was still nice.Cakes purchased to take away were a bit dry and stale.😔I will give it a try again to see if it has improved in this area. Shame as such a lovely cosy place to stop off at.

Really need to improve their gluten free range. They have a huge range of pastries, scotch eggs (which are supposed to be very nice) and other savory items, but nothing coeliac friendly. And the coffee was served way too hot - scalded the roof of my mouth. But the bakewell tart I had was ok.
