My husband and I have just completed a 6 week Tengu Taiko drumming course after being encouraged by friends to try it out, and you know, it’s been one of the best activities we’ve done! Jared is such a lovely, smiley person who is super-chilled and an excellent and patient trainer! What you get is a great workout for the brain and the body, a new skill set, and you meet a bunch of new people all with the same ‘can do’ attitude who can laugh at themselves. It’s really great fun so give it a go! We’re definitely going back for more. Thanks Jared for everything - we loved it!!

Another excellent Taiko six week course completed at York. Can't recommend Jared's classes enough. Jared is an enthusiastic, energetic teacher who inspires his pupils by clear step by step tuition, ending in a filmed performance of the piece at the end of the six weeks. His classes fill up quickly, which speaks for itself. Taiko is good for the body and the soul, and Jared always adds theatrical flair to each piece too making it fun to work on. I've already booked up for the next six weeks!

Absolutely fantastic. Seriously one of the best things I've ever done! The course was super fun and enjoyable, I loved every second. So wonderful to be a part of something like this. The tutor Jared is brilliant, makes you feel at ease and explains everything in a way that everyone can understand, taking you through it slowly, step by step. Before you know it, you're making amazing sounds as a group! It's also very good exercise so ticks that box too :) If you're thinking about doing this, stop thinking and just DO IT. You won't regret it!

Tengu Taiko classes are amazing! Jared is an incredibly knowledgeable and experienced teacher, and is very good at explaining things. The drumming exercises and songs are fun to play and sound great when we perform them. The classes are very inclusive and welcoming and a fantastic way to meet new people. I recommend to anyone interested in taiko drumming!

I've just completed a 6 week class, I'm signed up to do more! From the first moment I hit the drum and the resounding noise of the collective drums in the room with everyone else hitting their drums made, I was hooked. Jared's a great instructor with very enthusiastic energy. And is clearly very skilled in Taiko. The classes are great, and has steady progression to learn a full song together. The rest of the member have been very welcome friendly and nice, and overall is a brunch of great people coming together to play/learn taiko drumming.
