The scone is crazy. 3 types of jam are really special and amazing. There are plums, raspberries, strawberries. The best is plum jam. Maybe this is made directly. You have to order 3 scones. And butter is also really soft and delicious. It's the best of the scone I ate in England. I already miss this scones.

We went on a gift voucher from our son who found this charming shop while doing research at the nearby British Museum. It's a fun, somewhat unusual experience. As it was a gift, we got the full experience for two with a variety of finger sandwiches, pastries, cakes, lemonade and, of course, tea from a wide selection. There are less ambitious and less expensive offerings as well. The shop beneath a rare book store seems a bit like stepping back in time for a quiet respite from the hubbub outside.

The two staff were very nice. We were unable to book ahead of time as the online booking was not working and could not call from America to pre-book. We went in to see if we could book for the next day/later in the week and they were so nice and let us use one of the tables for the next hour and half. Food was excellent and tea was superb. Vegetarian options: If you look at the menu there are many vegetarian options for the sandwiches.
