Had some pickups fitted in one guitar and a jack replaced in another guitar. I didn't ask for a quote. The standard of work was good. I thought the price was excessive. The price to install these regular passive humbuckers into a regular LP type guitar amounted to about 60 quid when vat was included (not including the price of strings, which I supplied). I have since researched and found other shops offering this service for £20 to £30. Moreover, I was happy to source the pickups, but the proprietor said he could do this for me, and this cost me the additional vat, which amounted to about £45 more than I would have paid if I had sourced them. I wasn't aware that the shop was vat registered, but that is my mistake I guess. I was charged approximately £30 for having a jack input refitted to an old aria (labour only); I don't know if that is expensive or not. Nice guy and no complaint with the standard of workmanship, but I feel as though I could have saved myself £75 by sourcing the pickups and heading into Exeter. Still, seems a great shop.
