    Excellent. The Observatory is open to the public every Tuesday from 8:00pm - 10:00pm during the winter season, and is best when the skies are at least partly clear. The Astronomy academic staff and undergraduates are on hand to answer questions on the night sky objects, or anything else about astronomy. They are polite, helpful and extremely knowledgeable, and enthusiastic and engaging about their subject. The main attractions are the telescopes, which give fantastic magnification of the moon, planets, nebulae and stars. We've seen craters on the moon; Jupiter's moons; nebulae, including the Orion nebulae and the ring nebula, and some double stars including Albireo. The staff have a range of telescopes for viewing different objects, and this includes the recent comet. Always worth a visit, but make sure you know how to get to it as it's tucked away in the dark part of Keele campus.
