Since the first Covid-19 lockdown I have taken regular walks along the footpath which runs through the quarry. One day, in August, I picked enough blackberries, beside the path, to make more than a jar of bramble jelly. On one side of the path there is a ready mix cement works and on the other an attractive lake where wildfowl abound. When the water level is low fish can be seen foraging.
