The worst mouldy winter ever after damp proofing the cottage. Wet walls, black mould in the wardrobes, mushrooms growing on the shower box! We all coughed through the whole winter. Never have I used so much bleach in my life! I thought the cottage was damp before..

**EDIT** I'm moving my star rating from 2 to 1 as Tapco STILL won't listen to my simple question. I wanted to know how much a Damp Proof Course (DPC) Injection would cost per meter. I don't need or care if there are "extras needed", I don't care or need if "something else" comes up. I just wanted to know roughly how much it would cost if that is the only thing I wanted done. Their answer below is proof that they're still unwilling to listen. I will not be using a contractor that doesn't even understand the simplest of questions. After all you might end up like one of their other clients that thought they were getting X but ended up getting Y. **End of EDIT** I called in to find out how much a simple damp proofing course would cost. I just needed a ball park figure for a semidetached two bedroom house for this simple procedure. Sadly they wanted to charge me about £150 just to find this information out. While I can completely understand that more complex tasks will require a thorough survey, the fact that they had absolutely no idea on how much it would cost for a simple "drill hole and inject chemicals into a building" beggars disbelief. Going forward I would highly recommend that Tapco have a simple average cost price list. This might stop people wasting their time trying to call in only to be told to pay £150 for a quote.

I paid this company to damp proof my entire flat. It took six days and cost thousands of pounds including the work, vacating the flat, paying for a plumber to remove and put back radiators, repainting... The work was guaranteed for twenty years. Within four months the damp had come back. When I called and complained and asked them to fix the issue they said the damp had appeared since they carried out the work and they were not liable. Given the damp appeared during the hottest and driest time of the year, this is highly suspect. They said they had not noticed the 'new' damp at the time they carried out the original inspection and so were not liable. I'm really shocked and horrified that now I have to redo this wall and I'm back where I started with more bills. They should not have missed this. Now I am left with the damage.

I am very pleased with the damp survey Tapco provided. Their surveyor, Peter, clearly explained the potential issues, tests he would carry out and then thoroughly tested for damp. I was highly impressed with his knowledge and expertise and thoroughly recommend Tapco.

Had an unexpected and major water leak and needed a rapid assessment of the extent of damage. Jason was extraordinarily thorough, helpful, and professional and even came out to do a follow-on check. We had an excellent experience.

My recent experience of Tapco was not the best. To mention first, the reception staff, Gemma in particular, was helpful and polite, and the main work was done to a good standard. However the person who refitted my electrics did it wrong, meaning I had to get an electrician out afterwards. There was no follow up questionnaire or any communication to ask about my experience and satisfaction of the work that had been done. It was a pretty big job and was booked to begin at 8am on 17/11/21 and to last 4 days, bringing it to the following Monday. However I got a phone call that morning to say the man would be round at 2pm to measure up and clear the place to begin the next day, meaning it would now be for 4 days from 18/11/21. This was a small inconvenience and there was no apology, just an excuse that they had always had me booked to begin on the 18th, when I have an email stating its the 17th. A simple apology for getting the days mixed up would have sufficed. The evening of the 17th I received a text from one of the guys to say he'd be a little bit late, at around 10am the next day. 10am on the 18th came around and there was no sign. I rang him and asked where he was and he told me that he had another job and wouldn't be there until 1pm or later and that the job would now be pushed back another day. His manner was so rude, insisting on calling me "love" and raising his voice, despite me staying very calm over the phone and asking him to call me by my name, as I found this to be disrespectful. So I called up the reception staff and explained what had happened. Gemma was very helpful and said that they guys will be there by 11am and the work would still be finished by Tuesday the following week. She did reiterate many times that Tapco never rush a job, which was peculiar as it wasn't rushing that was the problem, it was the fact I was being fobbed off, spoken to rudely and the job was not getting started. When the man did arrive he was incredibly rude to my mother, who had been waiting at my house for hours as I had been in work, saying "your daughter just had a go at me". When I got there I told him I had not 'had a go at him' at all, I had listened to him while he made excuses and then I had called the Tapco office to complain, as it was not good enough that the work was not getting started, that I had booked either time off work or for family members to be in the house, and that the way he spoke to me was neither appropriate, nor necessary. Both workers in my house were very rude for those days, although it did seem they changed to a nicer tone when I had a male relative in the house, which was interesting. The actual job, once started, was done satisfactorily but I would never have work done by Tapco again and I regretted having had to pay the deposit as I would have gone elsewhere. As soon as the guys were out of the house, they were shouting and swearing while clearing up, so loudly I could hear them in my house, and they were parked outside, which gave a really bad impression of the company. So yes, the work was OK and the price was OK for the work I had done, but I do feel that more training in customer service is needed for the people they employ to carry out the jobs and to be reminded that we are in the 21st century and calling female customers "love", especially when they have asked multiple times not to be called that, is very inappropriate.

Excellent work on damp proofing the ground floor of a Victorian house. Four rooms in total to take off the old plaster to the brickwork, damp proof course and chemical injection and then rendering and skim. Jimmy performed the majority of the work and was an excellent plasterer...extremely high quality and commented on the work by a number of tradesmen that came in after asking for the number of the person performing the work. Good banter too and he took the time to explain each process and advised on the best materials for other renovation works in the property. Highly recommend...not cheap, but definitely worth it in the long run due to the quality and workmanship.
