We signed up to Talking Paws earlier this year having adopted a rescue dog a few weeks beforehand. Having read some books on the subject of Amichien Bonding (around which the training principles adopted by Four Paws are based) we felt that we already had a good grasp of the general principles involved and simply needed a few pointers. How wrong we were. Talking Paws were able to very quickly diagnose the reasons that our foxhound was displaying certain unwanted behaviours and informed us in detail how our actions were causing or enforcing her behaviours. Many of the principles we had read about were being applied by us incorrectly or inconsistently and we were advised how to put them right. Where we had been doing things correctly simply having the re-assurance from someone who had been through what we had telling us to keep at it was extremely helpful and gave us the much needed encouragement to persevere. Talking Paws provided a bespoke training plan and offered a lifetime follow up advice service at no additional cost. Both of these have been fantastic and it’s great to know that you can pick up the phone to a trained professional with any query no matter how small whenever you need to. i had Rachael come to my house last September, i had a brilliant consultation, she took time to explain, the methods of amichean bonding to me,she wrote me a plan to follow daily, that was designed to suit my dogs and our problems. she had advised me to read the books before hand, all i can say is wow, since finding and putting amichean bonding into our every day lives, i have noticed a big difference in my dogs, no more pulling on leads when out for walk, they come back to me on recall. no more constant barking. i have two very happy relaxed dogs.i feel amichean bonding should be introduced to every dog owner,s life. Rachael is a great teacher. I like the fact that she explains everything very thoroughly, why the dog behaves as it does and how your own behaviour can change it. It's not about "correcting" the dog's behaviour but about changing your relationship with the dog so that it knows what it should be doing. We saw changes in our dog pretty quickly following Rachael's session with us and we've consulted with her several times since to keep us motivated. I'd recommend her to any dog owner.
