FAQ

What is the student-to-teacher ratio at your nursery school?

At Tachbrook Nursery School, we maintain a low student-to-teacher ratio to ensure that each child receives individual attention and care. Our ratio is typically around 1:5 or 1:6, depending on the age of the children and the specific class they are in.

What type of curriculum do you use?

We use a play-based curriculum that incorporates elements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Our curriculum is designed to promote learning through play, exploration, and discovery, while also focusing on social and emotional development, language and communication skills, and physical development.

What are your hours of operation?

Our nursery school is open Monday to Friday, from 8:00am to 6:00pm. We offer full-day and half-day programs, as well as before and after-school care for children up to the age of 5.

What is your policy on potty-training?

We work closely with parents to support their child's potty-training journey. We follow a child-led approach, and work with each child at their own pace. We encourage open communication with parents and aim to create a consistent approach to potty-training between home and school.

What are the qualifications of your staff members who will be taking care of my child?

All of our staff members are qualified and experienced in working with young children. Our team includes Early Years Teachers, Nursery Nurses, and Teaching Assistants who hold relevant qualifications and have undergone rigorous background checks. We also provide ongoing training and professional development to ensure that our staff members are up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in early childhood education.

Back when we got married we had a one night stay for our honeymoon which included breakfast the following morning. We arrived down from Scotland very hungry, but found nothing on the dinner menu that we could either eat, or afford, so as the castle is in the middle of nowhere, we had no choice but to get back in the car & drive off towards Leeds to find some food…. We happened by a pub that was still serving & had a really nice affordable meal. The following morning I was sitting in bed & my husband was dressed in a towel when a woman put a key in the door & opened it with other folk behind her, saying she didn’t know room was occupied….. How embarrassing!!!

I was very impressed with the vegan options. I had thought that there would be nothing that I would eat but the à la carte had a few options, and it was very tasty. I was also impressed with the breakfast. I was expecting limited options, but it was great. Rooms: We had a large luxurious room. Very nice and very clean. Our room was super cool as it was accessed through a hidden door in the library.

This is one of my favourite places in Yorkshire to be. I have visited evil army for the last 12 years and finally stayed over for a romantic night away. It’s just perfect. The food was great, the staff are lovely, the spa is incredible and the building is just stunning and historic. In love with it
