My mortgage adviser actually suggested Sykes Robinson & another place. Sykes was about £100 cheaper - I was abit put off by some of the older reviews so I rung and spoke to Sue who assured me they were under new leadership & all the newer reviews were positive. I had a great experience - home buyers report back within the week. Just wish the solicitors were as quick & seamless! Couldn’t recommend enough.

The worst experience I've ever had. They were late and in breach of contract and did nothing to sort the situation. When I tried to speak to someone the receptionist kept saying there was No1 I could speak to and nothing she could do. The report is currently 2 weeks over due and still have no sign of it. It's a waste of £500 save yourself the hastle and just go with someone else.

Under no circumstance should you use this company if you are looking to move house swiftly. They originally conducted a home buyers report which mentioned an issue with the end of terrace wall. This subsequently resulted in my mortgage application being rejected. I had to convince the seller to get a structural report on the house. This came back and said there were no issues with the wall. I then sent this back to my mortgage lender for it reviewed by Sykes. After 3 WEEKS the principal surveyor still hasn't even looked at the report. As a result of this unprecedented delay, I have had to take time off work and move back in with my mother as the current contract on my flat is up. I have been contacting them almost every day trying to get an answer but with no luck. Absolutely shocking service - Do not use Write a comment... submit comment 1000 characters left

Absolutely terrible company, could not provide any information when requested, report is late with no estimate on when it will be produced, and they're only reason is that they're busy. If you're too busy to complete the reports you already have, why not complete them before accepting to survey more properties? It's such a basic problem, with such a simple solution.

This firm is dreadful! Under no circumstances use them. I paid for a full building survey and they failed to notice an enormous structural problem, which then cost me over £8000 to remedy. They did not take my complaint seriously, they advertised themselves as chattered surveyors when they are not, and when I went to the ombudsman they were ordered to pay me £8000 approx which they have not done! I have wasted days of my life attempting to get compensation for the problems caused by their incompetence, negligence and general indifference to their responsibilities to their customers.
