This is a happy school with interested and friendly teachers and the right balance of academic achievement, pastoral care and fun. The heads of year/department teachers are outstanding and the headmistress is caring, sensible and inspiring. Our daughter has been at Sydenham through reception and senior school and we couldn't be happier with both her and our experience. We have been particularly pleased with changes made since the current headmistress came into post.

Unfortunately i don't rate this school much, Senior school lacks positive leadership, poor pastoral care, bulling of staff and children very present in this school. There are better independent schools.

Very poor pastoral care. Bullying cases numerous and not confronted by staff and senior management team. Lack of compassion, understanding or support for ‘Victims’ and there families. Result being young left traumatised with no recourse for repair or redress. I do not recommend this school. Additionally i would question the ‘real’ support and ‘values’ of whole GDST framework of schools for young girls. Strategies empty, words empty and care non existent. An audit of bully records by school inspection needed. It’s a great place for bullies and bystanders.
