Although it is many months since I left Swansea University. This place is utterly ghastly. Some staff are treated appallingly, while others are given every opportunity which they do not deserve. There is a definitive culture of nepotism that I have experienced first-hand. Some staff are treated terribly and are on short term contracts, while others are promoted without just cause. The bullying among staff is endemic and it is altogether an utterly depressing place to work. One particular individual is Prof David Worsley who has a large ego and runs things with a high degree of partisanship. To prove this, just take a look at some of the poor academic track records of Engineering Prof’s Dave Penny (h-index 5) Prof Cameron Pleydell-Pierce (h-index 2) and Prof James Sullivan (h-index 4), yet they are all Full Professors. With extremely poor and questionable publication records, yet they have still become full-Professors. Why you may ask? Well it is because they are friends of Dave Worsley who has had them unjustly promoted. But these people don’t realise that they are just a laughingstock, because they have not earned these titles. The system is totally unfair and unjust for others who do put the work in. They play this green renewable energy card every five minutes, yet continue to back and support the largest polluter in the Wales (nearby Tata Steel). Hypocrites they all are. I have heard nightmare stories from other staff of how Professors will bully more junior staff, including Professor Martin Bache, who is a particularly nasty and corrosive bully. He bullied my colleague so much that she still suffers from depression because of it. I am deeply concerned about the decision of the department to allocate £1.1 million towards bailing out the failing company Swansea Materials Research & Testing (SMART Ltd), while there are ongoing staff layoffs across Swansea University. It seems unfair that the department would prioritize the financial well-being of one company over the job security of university employees. Furthermore, the fact that the department was able to find such a significant amount of money to bail out SMART Ltd raises questions about potential conflicts of interest. If the department has a financial stake in SMART Ltd's success, this decision could be seen as a conflict of interest that undermines the university's core values of fairness and transparency. As a concerned member of the university community, I believe that it is essential to ensure that all financial decisions are made in the best interests of the institution and its stakeholders. This includes prioritizing the well-being of university employees, as well as upholding ethical standards and avoiding conflicts of interest. Without more information about the specific circumstances surrounding this decision, it is difficult to assess its fairness. However, I urge the department and university leadership to be transparent about their decision-making process and to ensure that all resources are allocated fairly and equitably. Avoid this unfair, hypocritical and poor excuse for a University. It is not worth the time of day.

Throughout my study of Chemical Engineering at Swansea College, not only I gained my knowledge and experience but also broadened my life skill there. I thoroughly enjoyed my time (84 to 87) at the college and my stay at Hendrefoilan Student Village.

I studied at Swansea University, which is a very racist university, number one in the Uk for racism, and has the worst international tutors. Swansea University will not give any student answer booklet ( after releasing the results of exams) because they love hiding the fact to earn more money without the right. If you don't believe me, please get in touch with Swansea to know for yourself. I advise any international student planning to study at Swansea University (please don't come) thus try to find a great university rather than this 100% commercial university, "Swansea." The Bay campus of Engineering is far from the city center, around 10-15 by bus, so there is nothing around the Bay campus like shops or Halal restaurants. Kindely don't believe much advertising from the media, which Swansea University pays a lot to get international students to catch the students in the trap. Where Swansea University pays the highest commissions to many agents to bring international students, reaching %15, please do not risk your future and finances by studying at a vile university that does not know professionalism and justice.
