Update: our tortoise died less than six months old. He never grew at all and have been advised it was probably ill from the beginning as he failed to thrive. He was kept in 100 percent perfect conditions with the right lighting diet and environment. Won't but from here again a he'll of a lot of money spent on a poorly tortoise. Went to buy a tortoise. Happy for the staff member to quiz me on what I had set up for the animal's welfare. Always buy our fish here and enjoy just strolling around the animals to make a trip to the boring old garden centre more exciting for the kids. Saying that love mill race garden centre anyway.

Garden center is clean and lovely but the reptile section (swallow aquatics) is dirty and very run down needs a makeover and serious tidy up cob webs dirt glass on enclosures cleaned just for starters. And could be better laid out it's all crammed in to a dirty corner and enclosures look tired and all mixed and match vivariums and all are dusty and dirty, its not very nice if thinking about buying reptiles from there and staff could do with more training on the reptiles they keep and sell as not very clued up on reptile care or requirements.

Not sure what to think . I know prices have gone up but £16 for a goldfish l can remember when they were 50p might be an idea to buy fish rather than gold if you want to invest and get a return
