This is a wonderful care home. My father was here from last November until his death in February 2023. Sutton Village had been providing meals-on-wheels to my parents since the start of the pandemic so we already knew many of the staff, the manager and the owner. This gave us confidence from the day of his arrival, that my father was in safe hands and we had complete confidence that he would receive the best care. Everyone there is friendly, good humoured, knowledgeable, conscientious and attentive and they know how to make residents feel part of a large family where all their needs are served. Communication with us was regular and first class and it’s clear that care staff have a very good working relationship with local GPs and hospital clinicians. We’ll always be grateful for the love and care that staff gave to my dad and we will never forget it. We couldn’t have asked for more. Written by Hazel Wilkinson

Sutton Village Care Home was dad's home for the final chapter of his life. Dad unfortunately had many spells in hospital but couldn't wait to get back to Sutton and his "home comforts". Sutton Village Care Home encouraged us to make dad’s room homely and familiar to him, which enabled dad to settle instantly in his new environment. The care and compassion from the staff at Sutton Village Care Home was above and beyond. The lovely way all staff spoke with dad, the tender touch they gave him, and the constant strive to make sure dad was happy and comfortable, was all we hoped for and more. To see Dad engage so positively with staff members, is something us four children will always be grateful for. The experience was so positive that if we were to have the time over, we would make Sutton Village Care Home, dad's final home much sooner. Dad’s final chapter of life was all the richer, for the positive experience and the wonderful care and attention he received here. Thank you!

My mum lived at Sutton Village Care Home for 4 years and 3 months until her death (last week). I had visited many Care Homes (6 or 7) before choosing this one. Some Care Homes segregate people who have dementia, and I didn't want that for my mum. This care home is homely, and there are rarely any nasty smells. From the Manager down, the staff are just wonderful. I cannot fault any of them. Also, there is very rarely a change in staffing - many staff have worked there for years. The only small issue I have ever had was with the laundry (not really important in the scheme of things). As per previous reviews. I feel it's unfair for people to rate the home just on the owner. It undermines the conscientiousness of the manager/staff and doesn't paint a fair picture of the care that your loved one received. However, if the review was purely on the owner, I would only give 3 stars. Not one phone call from him following my mum's death..... disappointing! I HAVE received mum's refund though!! Well done Sutton Village Care Home.

My mum has been a resident here for over three years. I am very happy that we found a care home that provides a safe, comfortable environment for her. My mum's illness makes her extremely vulnerable. She is a very tactile person and needs constant smiles, hugs and reassurance. She is cared for here with love, compassion, dignity and respect. Thankfully, the staff at Sutton Village know their residents really well, therefore are aware how best to support them. I am pleased to say that they don't just care for my mum, they care about her. This is invaluable, giving us the confidence that her welfare is of the utmost importance. My dad was recently fortunate enough to benefit from a short stay in SVCH. My parents were due to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary, and he was concerned that they would have to spend it apart. The care home made it possible for them to celebrate their special day together and threw them a wonderful party which lifted everyone's spirits and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. He couldn't have wished for a better day. During his stay, every effort was made to make him feel at home. The staff were personable, considerate and very supportive. Their ongoing commitment is commendable. Thank you to all at SVCH

The staff are very caring but beware of the owner, we were owed a substantial amount of money after my mother in law died but it took my husband weeks to get the money back, the owner at first tried to only give us half the amount we were owed but after threatening him with legal action, and many visits to the home, finally got the full amount, but not before causing us a great deal of stress. It's a good home but there are plenty of good homes around, so look elsewhere.
