Sutemi shukokai Karate Ryu is a great and friendly place to learn karate and is not as expensive as many other clubs. I previously went to another club which apparently closed and this club is up to a high standard. Worth a visit if you are looking for a good place to do karate.

It has been just over a year now since I took my son to this Karate club. My first impression was how friendly and inviting the Chief Instructor Stewart Procter was. He took the time to explain just how the club worked and reassured me that I was making the right decision. I stayed for the first lesson, being allowed to sit at the back and watch, and was impressed by the level and depth of content that was imparted to beginners. There are also two Senior Instructors at the club Sensei Drew Bell 3rd Dan and Sensei John Fairclough 3rd Dan who help with the instruction and running of the Club. I would recommend this club wholeheartedly to anybody wishing for themselves or their loved ones to take up this martial art.

“My son and daughter have now been attending this Karate club around two years now and to be honest, I wish that we had known about it sooner. They attend both lessons (on a Friday evening and on a Sunday morning) and thoroughly enjoy it. One comment I had off my daughter after being there for two weeks was that she wished she could do it every day, she enjoyed class so much. The group make you feel welcome and it’s like one big family. My children are gaining confidence, skills, their grades and friends at the same time!” Joanne Jones
