  I decided to use Andy, Amanda, Dom & team because of local reputation for being trustworthy and reliable. They are a family business and have been a pleasure to interact with. We had a solar array and Powerwall installed. Something complicated was simplified and made straight forward for us. They come across as knowledgeable and honest. The team installing the equipment were friendly, polite and efficient. When I had follow up questions on the solar export - Andy decided to both give me a phone call in the evening and to pop round to my house to go through things and check I understood. Recently, some 10 months on from the install, I spotted some crows building a nest under the solar panels. Very promptly, they had some scaffolding put up and their team resolved this problem, fixing some damaged netting. They explained they had never had a net failure in over 10 years - and showed me a photograph of a footprint where a contractor (I had separately used for my roof) had stepped on the netting, and broken a section. Despite this very clearly being my own liability, Sussex Solar decided to offer me their time free of charge. So overall, a reliable local friendly company, excellent follow up and do not shy away from responsibility. And even when clearly they have used the best equipment and installed to perfection with someone else damaging this, they want to give you the best customer experience. Definitely a company I would use again and have recommended to others already.

  Sussex Solar installed a 5.2kW Solar Panel system, with Tesla Battery, Eddie Water heater and a Zappie car charger. The whole process was carried out in a friendly and professional manner, with everyone in the office, project managers, scaffolders, and the installation team working well together. The equipment was installed in a very tidy way, and at the agreed times, with any changes communicated well in advance. The installation was completed at the end of March, and so far has provided all our hot water and electric needs averaging nearly 20kWh/day in a very wet April (and on average we exported nearly 8kWh/day). We have joined the new Octopus Flux Import/Export tariff which takes a few weeks to fully set up, with Sussex Solar providing all the required information to do this. Overall very happy with installation and the results.

  Sussex Solar have just installed a 3.16 kw peak output solar PV system with a 5.2 kWh battery. I was impressed by their professional approach and the standard or workmanship. Everything went smoothly with the installation and handover. It was a pleasure to have the employees carrying out the work and they were quite inobtrusive but very pleasant. It is satisfying to see the amount of electricity being generated and the surplus charging up the battery for use overnight.

  Andy, Amanda at Sussex Solar have just installed a heat pump into our property. After the heat loss survey Andy recommended a system that easily connected to our existing central heating system. We choose to upgrade a few more radiators than suggested to improve efficiency. His team of installers (Lewis, Fraser and colleagues) were polite, tidy and respectful of our house throughout the instal process, listening to our concerns and suggesting solutions that worked for us. They started the install on time and always arrived at the time they agreed each day. The system has been running for three weeks now, we are toasty warm and critically have achieved the forecast efficiency. I was keen to use a local company with a long track record, so I could be confident of ongoing support, I have not been disappointed. I have no hesitation in recommending Sussex Solar.

  Despite horrid weather, Quality Installation, minimum fuss, great documentation to support installed system. Didn't try to over sell . Found them on Companies house, RECC and MCS web sites been around a long time gave me lots of confidence. Great after installation support.

  Sussex Solar have just installed solar PV panels, the inverter and a battery for us. They are true professionals and have done an excellent job at every stage, keeping us well informed and taking care with our home. On this last point, Sussex Solar really deserve their five star review, for the customer care that we have received after their scaffolders inadvertently caused some damage to the roof of our extension. Sussex Solar did not quibble at all and went to great lengths to ensure that all of the damage was rectified. Many thanks for a great job well done.

  It's been brilliant interacting with the friendly and helpful team at Sussex Solar. Work has been completed rapidly, flexibly and to a very high standard, and we're really pleased with the installation of our 9kWp east/west array with Tesla battery (updated photo below). Sussex Solar was able to get us a really good DNO permission for our larger than average install, and their advice and information was really helpful. The installation teams are also brilliant, and were a pleasure to have working around the home. Highly recommended!

  Sussex Solar 5.6kW PV system with 5.2kWh battery: Enthusiastic recommendation and endorsement In September 2022 Sussex Solar Ltd installed a 14 panel 5.5kW (pk) solar PV system with GivEnergy 3.6kW hybrid inverter and 5.2kWh battery. It went live towards the end of September and over the first week of its operation met more than 80% of our electrical power needs. The positives: • A well proven set of system components: solar panels, hybrid inverter, battery, cabling and smartphone app. • Very good responsiveness to: emails, requests for information, and answers to questions. I approached four possible suppliers for a quote: Sussex Solar were the only ones who responded. • Excellent project management of the whole installation process: scaffolding install; system install and commissioning; and scaffolding removal. • Excellent quality of workmanship, including tidiness • A great set of individuals involved throughout the process No negatives, but a couple of things to aware of: • They offer a limited number of inverter / battery configurations. This is good as it means that the whole process from design to installation is very smooth. But you may need to make some compromises in your requirements. • You will be given an estimate of the overall peak solar power that your panels will generate. However it will be up to you to work out the economics of what this will mean for your situation. • The application to the local electricity supplier for a DNO / export MPAN is made after commissioning. Depending on the electricity supplier it could be a week / months.

  As part of a complete rebuild of our property we contacted Sussex Solar to discuss the merits and feasibility of having solar panels installed. They provided a range of options, and we choose in-roof panels as these were a flush fit. As our roof is East/West we had panels installed on each side. Despite delays in our build and late changes to the roof design (impacting the number of panels we could have), Sussex Solar kept in touch and were able to install the panels at a time to fit around the builders. Andy and his team were always professional and efficient and happy to answer questions and confirm electrical requirements with our builders. We would highly recommend them.
