Absolutely wonderful experiencing Sussex Law again after 12 + years Back in 2010 they helped me purchase a flat in Hove Kingsway. Purchased and sold properties using Jane Cole, what a breath of fresh air, fantastic lawyer, really knows her stuff, ended up doing some of the other sides work due to them being totally inadequate. I have never seen so many thank you cards in a solicitors office! Highly recommended! Update Had another transaction with Jane Cole and still highly recommended. Kept me in the picture the whole time.

Sussex Law did not represent myself but instead the sellers of a plot of land we were purchasing. I would not recommend Sussex Law to anyone, and for future property sales or purchases, I would drop out of the transaction before going through this process again with Sussex Law involved. From reading their other reviews their quality of work seems to be at either end of the scale, unfortunately we experienced them on a bad day that lasted 8 months. Jane rarely answered calls to either our solicitor or her own client, if her assistant answered you were promised a return call that never materialised. She brought up issues to the sellers at the eleventh hour rather than discussing them ahead of time. She also added in her own clauses into the contract without the seller’s request, which had to be sent back to Sussex Law multiple times to get these clauses removed. Our solicitor’s fees were also much higher than quoted as they had to pick up the slack if we wanted the work to be completed to a high quality and in a timely manner. For a relatively easy and simple transaction there were a lot of delays and annoyances that I feel could have been avoided if the sellers had been using a different company.

Jane Cole acted on my behalf. Jane is communicative and clear and progressed my conveyancing as smoothly as I have known. My estate agent pushed me onto a panel firm with one of those awful 'never speak to a human' processes that is designed to seemingly cut you, the customer, out of any meaningful contact with anyone involved in one of the most important purchases of your life. I am so happy I rejected that and, on word-of-mouth recommendation, put a call into Sussex Law Solicitors. I immediately spoke to Jane Cole and within a day I had all relevant information emailed to me. The sale of my house was under way and so too was the purchase of my next place. Extremely pleased with this firm, will definitely use again and recommend highly.
