I have a 160-year-old Family Bible which came to me in the exact condition shown in Michael's "before" photos. Michael talked me through the restoration that he had in mind, and gave me a very reasonable price for carrying it out, which I accepted. Just a few weeks later, the Bible was in the condition that you see - looking like a 160-year-old Bible that has been well cared for. I can completely recommend his work to anyone who wants a proper job done.

I took two family bibles to Micheal that were around 200 yrs old. The books had been passed down through multiple generations and needed a lot of TLC. Start to finish Michael was great in making the assessment, quoting the work and we’re obviously delighted with the end result. Very safe pair of (skilled) hands! Michael was also fantastic about recommending storage solutions as well. So a huge amount of thanks from me and my families future generations, for ensuring the legacy is preserved!

We had a set of two books printed in 1804 repaired by Michael. The work was excellent with the spine of one being both repaired and aged to match the other and a torn page almost invisibly repaired. Combined with the level of communication we had with him, this was a hassle free process from beginning to end. A first class experience all round.

I found Mr Sassen very courteous and knowledgeable. He was very helpful, talking me through all what needed to be done to the book that I had asked him to renovate. I am so pleased with the finished book. The renovations were more than I could ask for. Thankyou Michael.

We can only add to the wonderful comments already on this page, as we have just been to collect my wife's Family Bible from Michael. He has made a superb job of restoring a very dilapidated 100+ year old book, and the result is amazing! A thoroughly professional job, which we are sure will last for very many years. Our Grandson already has his eyes on it, but he'll have to join the queue behind our Son! Thank you, Michael. David and Elizabeth Bush

I initially contacted Michael because of his excellent reviews. I had a book that I needed restoring about wildflowers in Cornwall which had lost its spine and which was important to me. He was busy at the time I first contacted him with a long lead in period but he was upfront about how long it would take and provided some very detailed emails about the project which was extremely helpful. I have just received the book back and it's absolutely stunning. I have no idea how he managed to provide a new gold leaf lettered spine where there was none before to match the same material as the green faded front/rear covers on a 100-year-old book. Absolutely outstanding
